Editorial Reviews:

When a horrifying attack leaves one of the four members of the Women's Murder Club struggling for her life, the others fight to keep a madman behind bars before anyone else is hurt. And Lindsay Boxer and her new partner in the San Francisco police department run flat-out to stop a series of kidnappings that has electrified the city: children are being plucked off the streets together with their nannies-- but the kidnappers aren't demanding ransom. Amid uncertainty and rising panic, Lindsay juggles the possibility of a new love with an unsolvable investigation, and the knowledge that one member of the club could be on the brink of death. And just when everything appears momentarily under control, the case takes a terrifying turn, putting an entire city in lethal danger. Lindsay must make a choice she never dreamed she'd face--with no certainty that either outcome has more than a prayer of success.

Summary: Good, but not as good as the others in the series.
Comment: Great story, not as exciting as the first few, but it does keep you going. I have read all the Womens Murder Club and this one was my least favorite but I still loved it. I am getting high expectations. C'mon James Patterson give us some more of that great stuff!

Summary: Typical Patterson at his best!!
Comment: This was one of the more cat/mouse reads I've encountered from Patterson as of late. When you're about 1/3 of the way through the book you're left thinking,"Ok...he confessed..now what else can happen??". That's when Patterson takes you on his Roller Coaster ride through the mind of a killer. I will say that there were a lot of separate sub-plots going on in this book...Linday's relationship with Joe, the shootings at the apartments, etc. that didn't really tie in with things but, that aside, I'd say it was one terrific read.

Summary: Scattered
Comment: While this series is still hanging on a bit better than Alex Cross, I was very disappointed in this installment.

Why the three separate crimes that had nothing to do with each other and weren't really mysteries or suspenseful? Usually a JP book is full of suspense as you ride along, trying to figure out whodunnit. This one gave three opportunities, but there really was no mystery to any of them -- the answers were easily solved, and more time was devoted to the trial of one than trying to solve the crimes that were taking place.

Add this to the whirlwind of Lindsay's romantic life and another member of the club being injured (what a letdown that was!) and it seems like JP and his cohort were trying to cram way too much into one novel.

And finally...why does Lindsay take Cindy into crime scenes with her? What police officer is allowed to bring a reporter with them, simply because they're a friend? That annoyed me to no end.

Summary: Women's murder club
Comment: Terrific book. Amazon the only place I found it. Have now read all
6 of the series. Waiting for the next one. Very disappointed that
the TV series based on these books was cancelled.

Summary: Woman's Murder Club Redeems Itself with 6th
Comment: I have to say that in the book the 6th Target, James Patterson has redeemed himself from the lack that I felt from the 5th Horseman. Of course I love the characters, I thought the plot was exciting and for me it was a pageturner! I see Lindsay growing up more in this book, especially when it comes to her relationship with Joe. Honestly I would've rather seen her end up with Conklin, but you never know, I guess she still has time to change her mind about things! The "criminals" in this book were two of my favorite so far. Fred Brinkley the insane, but not really insane murder and then you have those baby snatching Renfrew's. I have to say this was an A- for Patterson and Paetro. Great comeback from the last book!
