Customer Rating: Summary: Dry dog food that's good for your dog, but... Comment: My dog breeder suggested that corn-free dog food is a better choice for collies. I found this Newman's dry food to be one of very few on the market without corn, so my puppy is trying it.
He doesn't go crazy over this as he does with Newman's canned Chicken and Chicken & Turkey varieties dog food. But if you mix them he's all set, so that is how I feed it to him. It is good for him, and it brings the fat/carb/protein mix to a healthier value.
By the way, the breeder had suggested "Diamond Naturals Large Breed Lamb & Rice Puppy Formula Dry Dog Food" (corn-free) and he supplied a plastic bag of it with our puppy. As dry food by itself, the pup preferred Diamond over Newman's. The Diamond brand wasn't listed on Amazon, even in the marketplace. I had to buy it from a major pet food direct seller on the web. Both are healthy choices for dogs.
The four-star rating is what my puppy insisted upon. He wants all his food to have "go-crazy-over-it" flavor.
