Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Very girly and lively print Comment: Excellent quality seat. This particular print is beautiful. I bought the seat for my younger one but I now had to order just the cover from Britax coz now my older daughter wanted the same cover. It is lovely. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Car Seat! Comment: I just purchased this car seat for my 2 year old daughter after reading all the excellent reviews. She had become too tall for her Evenflo seat. This car seat is great! The fabric is bright and very soft, like velvet. I installed it on my own in probably less than 5 minutes. The latch connectors are like regular seat belt connectors so they were super easy to work with. The online installation directions were a great help as well. I was pretty much sold on this car seat after reading all the reviews and the information on the Britax web site. I am hoping my daughter can stay in it for awhile, I regret not getting it sooner. If you are thinking about getting the Britax car seat, just go ahead and do it. I did and I am very pleased so far. Customer Rating: Summary: Britax Comment: This is our second step in protecting the safety of our granddaughter. Both chairs are of high quality and work great. thanks Customer Rating: Summary: Britax carseat Comment: This is a great carseat and the video demonstration online was a BIG help in getting it installed by my sister and me instead of looking for professional help. My grandson will enjoy the seat for many years I'm sure. Thank you. Customer Rating: Summary: Best carseat available Comment: We have owned this car seat for nearly five years and it is as good today as it was on day one. We have a Toyota minivan and there's only LATCH on one of the rear seats. This car seat installs easily on both the LATCH seat and the seat with the traditional seat belt. We also own an Evenflo Triumph (both were very highly rated in safety tests) and the Marathon is always our first choice if we have to move a car seat from one vehicle to the next. After all, if it's not installed properly it's not going to protect your child... and nobody likes messing with installing car seats. The Marathon is about as painless as it gets.
The Evenflo's straps are constantly twisted but the Marathon's always seem to be flat, just like they're supposed to be. It has little Velcro strips on the edges of the seat so when you're taking your child out you can stick the straps right there and not have to mess with trying to sort them out when you get back to the car.
It's easy to adjust the strap height when your child grows. My 6-yr-old daughter is at the highest setting and she's not even close to outgrowing this seat yet in terms of height or weight limitations.
The only issue we have had is that the belt tightening mechanism gets stuck occasionally. That's more likely because of spilled juice than a design flaw. :) We have the black and gray cover and it's really good at camouflaging any spills. It does get pretty hot in the summer, but we throw a light-colored towel over it if the van's going to be sitting out in the sun and that helps a lot. I wish there were a place to tuck the unused LATCH straps if you're using a traditional seat belt, but that's not enough for me to give this car seat any fewer than the 5 stars it deserves.
This was a GREAT investment. I wish we'd sucked it up and spent a little more money on another Marathon instead of going with an Evenflo the second time.
