Designed to compliment wood interiors, the Center Gateway Gate is pressure mounted and swings in both directions. The wood center gateway gate measures 30 1/2" tall and fits openings 28" to 36" wide. Optional kits are available for openings up to 47"(sold separately).

The Gateway Gate series has been rated the number one pressure mounted gate system by a leading consumer report magazine. Installation is quick and easy without the needs for tools, holes or hardware. Four non-skid mounting pads eliminate damage to woodwork and walls.

Comment: This gate was easy to install and looks nice. Our 70 lb. dog can't jump over and the baby can't open it. It is easy to open for an adult or older child. Would highly recommend.

Summary: Going on 5 years with these - the best gates available
Comment: We have four of these gates and they have been used daily for almost five years. They are as solid as the day they were purchased.

We went with the Kidco wood gate initially because we have an old house that we spent lots of time restoring and felt that the wood look went with the house better than new "space age" looking gates. Five years later, we are happy that we made the decision because the gates look great in the house, and they have stood up to all of the use and abuse our three kids could dish out.

Other reviewers have noted that there is a bar that goes along the base of the gate that is easy to trip over. It takes a couple of days to get used to this, but hasn't been a problem for us.

Also, another reviewer questioned the longevity of the gates due to the constant opening and closing of the handles. Honestly, these gates have held up to constant use and we haven't had ANY problems with them whatsoever.

The best part about them is that they truly child proof. We have "Houdini" nephews that haven't been able to get through them in all this time.

Comment: i wouldn't be surprised if the parts of the plastic handle didn't stand up to regular use, since opening the gate involves a 3-step sequence. plus, i find you need to use 2 hands to open it. the HANDS FREE GATE IS SO MUCH BETTER than this, but we had to get this one because our entryway was too narrow for the hands free gate.

Summary: Great product but beware of the wood!
Comment: This is an extremely sturdy, well-made gate. We purchased the Beechwood gate to keep our dog in the kitchen when we leave our home. It goes well with our decor and fits perfectly in our doorway (with an extension). However, if your dog is a chewer DO NOT get the Beechwood gate. Go with the metal ones. Our dog chewed right through the wood in the gate and it's now useless (not to mention over $100 down the drain). Otherwise, we were very impressed with the quality and look of this gate.
